Steve Lowery

Mr. Stephen Eugene Lowery, affectionately known as Steve, age 64 of Sparta, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Steve was born December 26, 1961 in Anderson, Indiana.  Steve was a Veteran of the United States Army where he was involved with Special Forces as a member of the HALO team. Following his military career he founded, Steve's Home Improvement and was proud of the fact that he built his home in Sparta. Steve was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. He will be fondly remembered as a man of faith and his ministry to others in need. His faith led him to be ordained, serve as a Life Coach and attend Life Church in Baxter.

Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Hoover Lowery.

Surviving family members include his wife of 34 years Barb Witek-Lowery

Daughter: Tara King and husband Tommy

Son: Cole Lowery

Grandchildren: Davis King, Caleb Thomas and Nate King

Sister: Amanda Lowery and Joe Webster

Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with Steve's cremation and a Celebration of Life will be conducted 3:00pm, July 31, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Full military honors will be presented by the Veterans' Honor Guard. Houston Jared will officiate. The family will receive friends after 1:00pmon the 31st at Hunter Funeral Home.
