Ms. Tabitha Day Officer, affectionately known as Tabby, age 67 of Sparta, passed away Tuesday morning, July 20, 2021 at her residence.

Tabby was born August 20, 1953 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Robert Hill and Frankie King Officer. After getting her education at Wallace Smith School and obtaining an associates degree in New York, she embarked on a work history that included Doyle Shirt Factory, 26 years at Mallory, and BBB (formerly LTD) for the last several years. She was a Christian woman as evident by her longtime active membership at Kynett United Methodist Church. Tabby was the life of the party, as she loved music and dancing. She also enjoyed reading and cooking, but above all else, her passion was spending time with her family and being Nana to her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by two sisters Wanda Sue Gardenhire, Linda Nicholson; brother Robert Kent Officer.

Grandchildren: Brandon Officer & Brandi, Brianna Officer & Ricky, Brenton Hunter

Great-granddaughter: Zemira Ballard

Two sisters: Sandra Kay Fordham, Pamela Lewis

A host of nieces, nephews and longtime friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, July 25, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Davis Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from noon until service time at Hunter Funeral Home. Pastor Diantha McLeod will officiate.

Michael League, Leon Gardenhire, Ken Clemons, Brenton Hunter, Brandon Officer and Ricky Ballard will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Buster Henderson, Matt Boone, David Culley, Toby Culley and Knobbie Gwynn.
