Mr. Tommy Lee Henry, age 70 of Alexandria, formerly of Sparta, passed away at 5:25pm Saturday, May 15, 2021 at his residence.

Tommy was born January 20, 1951 in Monterey, Tennessee to the late Charles Clinton and Louise Woody Henry. Tommy was a high school basketball standout. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam as a field radio operator until an injury sustained on a mission got him medically discharged with a Good Conduct Medal. Following his service in the Marines, he worked 30 years as a brick and block mason. He was a history buff escpecially history pertaining to war and military. Above all else he loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son Tommy Lee Henry, Jr., who died May 25, 2019; sister-in-law Alice Lee Henry; nephew John Henry; step-son Andrew Duke and step-brother Paul Farley.

Grandchildren: Nick Henry, Kristen Taylor, Autumn (Ethan) Duke, Austin Tomlin, Ben (Marissa) Huffman, T.J. (Alexis) Henry, Lucas (Macey) Henry and Carson Henry

Great-grandchildren: Liam, Summer, Makinsley, Makenna, Juliet and Arianna

Brothers: Charles Henry, Jr., Bobby (Carolyn) Henry, Danny Henry and Larry (Betty) Henry

Sister: Joanne (Frank) Gamble

Step-mother: Peggy Henry

Step-sister: Cathy (Mark) Allred

Step-brothers: Jerry (Debbie) Farley and Andy (Christina) Henry

A host of nieces and nephews

Funeral services with military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will be conducted 12:00pm Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00am until service time at noon at Hunter Funeral Home. At Tommy's request he will be cremated following his funeral service and his ashes  will be spread at a special location.
