Mrs. Tonya Lynn Winnett Sliger, age 51 of Sparta passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital.

Tonya was born July 30, 1971 in Frankfort, Indiana. She is a former employee of Tutco, Aphena and US Bank. Tonya was a longtime active member of Pistole Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading listening to music, but her absolute joy in life was spending time with her family. Playing games together brought her the most happiness, whether it was cards, board games or playstation. If she was not playing a game,  she was watching a sporting event on television;  cheering on the Big Orange in college, the Braves in baseball, the Titans and Forty-niners in the NFL.

Tonya is preceded in death by her mother Effie Marie Young Winnett; her beloved mother-in-law Betty Sliger Graham and her two father-in-laws Sam B. Sliger and Oscar Keith Graham.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years Jeff Sliger

Two sons: Trevor Sliger and Trey Sliger

Six sisters: Daisy Mae Luna, Tammy (Shawn) Leftwich, Sandra (Phillip) Geer, Gloria Geer, Jeanette Caldwell and Brenda Caldwell

A host of nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, January 8, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Elrod Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Clint Walker and Harlen Simmons will officiate.

Shawn Leftwich, Christopher Hickey, Jr., Chris Williams, Britton Smith, Brett Alan Luna, David Luna, Zach Sewell and Adam Zimmerman will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Phillip Geer, Sr. and Phillip Geer, Jr.
