Mr. Wesley Eugene Wair, affectionately known as Gene to his family, passed away at 8:57am Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville.

Gene was born August 26, 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a factory worker employed at Alladin in Nashville in addition to several others. As an avid history buff, he loved to talk history to anyone who would listen. Gene was a longtime caregiver to his mother, and he shared that caring spirit with all of his family and friends. He was strong in his faith, dedicated to reading his bible and taking great pride in being saved.

Gene is preceded in death by his mother Fannie Louise Taylor Isbell; father Clyde William Wair, Sr.; sisters Brenda Williams, Linda Goff who died on May 2, 2023, Patricia Mosley; brothers Virgil L. and Clyde Wair; nieces and nephews Charles Stewart, Lattie Stewart, Jenny Lynn Wair and Matthew Wair

Surviving family members include his sister Peggy Curtiss and husband Charlie

Brother: James Wair and wife Darlene

Nieces and nephews: Nichole (Bill) Crittenden, Robert (Shannon) Wair, James "Jimmy" Wair, Kimberly (Chris) Ingram, Anita (Joe) Canello, Kay (Boumny) Vongkhamchanhn, Steven Hailey and daughter Brigget, Robert (Misty) Hailey, Francis Morrighan and son Christopher, Wesley R. Wair

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Saturday, October 21, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Plainview Cemetery in the Cassville Community. The family will receive friends after 2:00pm Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Johnathan Hankins will officiate.
