Mr. William C. Hitchcock, age 80 of the Pistole Community, passed away at 11:57pm Friday, September 24, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Hitchcock was born October 17, 1940 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Merrel Carter and Eliza Mae Hitchcock. He was a lifetime farmer and longtime carpenter. He was a member of Pistole Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers Allen and Ronald Hitchcock.

Surviving family members include his wife of 56 years Marilyn Cope Hitchcock of Sparta

Two sons: William C. "Bill" Hitchcock, Jr. and wife Tammy of Sparta, Danny Lynn Hitchcock of Sparta

Grandchildren: Katy Hitchcock, Adam Hitchcock, Lindsey (Sean) Yoder, Lacee (Austin) Hill, Chase Lewis Hitchcock

Great-grandchild: Palmer Hill

Brother: Michael Douglas Hitchcock of Nashville

Sister: Connie (Butch) Muller of Nashville

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Monday, September 27, 2021 at Pistole Baptist Church with burial in Pistole Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Monday at the church. Clint Walker will officiate.

Adam Hitchcock, Hank Clark, Dennis Clark, Stanton Nash, Herd Sullivan and Jeff Sliger will serve the family as pallbearers.
