Mr. William Bert Rutherford, age 65 of Sparta, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 13, 2025 in the Emergency Room of Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

William was born April 15, 1959 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Bill and Mayme Pauline Johnson Rutherford Cope. William was employed by Filter Fab in Algood after a long career with his own drywall company. William was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching wrestling in the evenings and playing video games with his children. William was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

William is survived by his wife of 42 years Mary Rutherford of Sparta

Children: William Rutherford, Kelley Rutherford and Eddie Adcock

Grandchildren: Allison Rutherford, Brenda Lance, Anna Lance, LaNiah Rutherford, Ashlyn Rutherford and Cambrie Adcock

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Monday, January 20, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will follow in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Monday at Hunter Funeral Home.

William Rutherford, Eddie Adcock, Josh Prater, Slade James, Dale Adcock and Jeremy Jones will serve as pallbearers.
