Mr. Willie J. Richmond, age 73 of Cookeville, Tennessee, a native of Sparta, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Willie was born April 29, 1950 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Mary Elizabeth Richmond, better known as Mama Mae. He was a longtime diesel mechanic for Bud Hickey. Willie's Sundays in the fall were devoted to his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. He loved all sports and his time in Chicago made him a Bulls and Bears fan. He played football in high school and went on to play a year at Tennessee State University and later for the U.S. Army in Germany. In addition to his mother, he is also preceded in death by his sister Tommie Ellen "June Bug" Richmond and niece Felechia Annette Richmond.

Survivors include his wife Angie Richmond

Sons: Daryl Dunbar, Andre Richmond, Marquis Richmond, Lee Snedecor, Tyson Richmond, Jed Duncan and Gabe Duncan

Daughters: Crystal Hilliard, Jeanette Hilliard, Alicia Bridgeforth, Tajuanna Britton-Johnson, Tricia Johnson and Jackie Duncan

Three sisters: Shirley Richmond, Lynn Richmond Cummings and Sabrina Ellis

A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Plum Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Wednesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Pastor Jason Groe will officiate.

Marquis Richmond, Andre Richmond, Daryl Dunbar, Lee Snedecor, Tyson Richmond and Tyshawn Hilliard will serve as pallbearers.
