Mrs. Wilma Jean Holman Bennett, age 90 of Sparta, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at NHC of Sparta.

Wilma was born February 8, 1936 in the Bear Cove community of White County to the late Jimmy and Monerva Bryant Holman. She had a work career that spanned from the shirt factory, Russell Stovers and ultimately retiring from Farm House Foods. She enjoyed growing flowers and will be fondly remembered for shopping excursions to add to her collectables.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Manuel Charles Bennett who died December 27, 2025; son Gary Wayne Bennett May 15, 1974; sisters Mattie Holman Nation, Rachel Holman Mabe; brothers R.T., James, Ray and Charles Holman.

Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her two daughters: Cindy Spivey and husband David, Melinda Jetter

Son: Chris Bennett and wife Lara

Grandchildren: Stacy Chaffin, Tammy Hughes, Tina Cope, Blake Bennett, Ethan Bennett and Kayla Jetter

Brother: Clay Holman

Several great-grandchildren also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Friday, April 3, 2026 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Friday at Hunter Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Gerhart will officiate.
