Phillip R. Murdock, age 54 of Sparta, passed away Tuesday evening, August 11, 2020 as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Phillip was born September 23, 1965 in Sparta, Tennessee. His work career spanned from a long-time insurance agent to White County school bus driver to currently the Truck Pro office manager. Phillip was always eager and happy to help friends and family in any way he could. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed working on cars - whether for himself or family. As a car enthusiast, he was an avid NASCAR fan and car club member. In addition, Phillip enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his father Ralph Murdock.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years Kimberly Saylors Murdock of Sparta

Step-son: Kalland Saylors of Sparta

Mother: Louise Murdock (Bob) Baker of Sparta

Two sisters: Deborah Emery of Sparta, Joanna (Mike) Herman of Smyrna

Four brothers: Mike (Gayle) Murdock, Roger Murdock, Jonathan Murdock all of Sparta, Paul (Tammy) Murdock of Monterey

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, August 16, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Saylors Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home.  Bobby Moore and Paul Allen will officiate.

Donnie Daniels, Mark Ray, Richard Saylors, Tommy England, Steven Keen, Brian Murdock and Billy Lee will serve the family as pallbearers.
