John is the fourth generation to own and manage Hunter Funeral Home, Inc. taking over the family business when his father, JB Hunter, died in 1977. He has been a licensed funeral director for almost 40 years, a profession he learned to admire and respect from his father and grandfather. It is this long-standing family tradition of service that is the hallmark of Hunter Funeral Home's past, as well as our intention for the future.

Jan was welcomed into Hunter Funeral Home,Inc. and Sparta when she and John were married in 1985. She has been beside John helping to serve the families of our community for over 30 years. Her passion and interest in vintage design has inspired her to honor and preserve the historical beauty of our building. Jan is continually searching for ways to preserve the history of this home, but also make it welcoming to our families and guests.

Amber joined the Hunter family when John and Jan were married in 1985. She is now proud to be the fifth generation of Hunter Funeral Home, Inc. She served her apprenticeship under John and has been recognized as a licensed Funeral Director by the State of Tennessee for over 10 years. Amber's focus is to show the people of this community how Hunter Funeral Home, Inc. is more than just a business; we are a family serving your family when you need us.

Ashley joined the Hunter family when he and Amber were married in 2003. He has been a licensed Funeral Director by the State of Tennessee for over 10 years and served his apprenticeship under John. In addition, he helps serve our families as a licensed Preened Counselor and was recently designated as a Certified Crematory Operator by the National Funeral Directors Association. Ashley is dedicated to the idea that the honor bestowed upon us by your trust is reflected in the service we give to our families and our community.

For over 30 years, Randy has been serving the families of Hunter Funeral Home, Inc. He graduated from Mid America College of Funeral Service as an embalmer and is recognized as a licensed Funeral Director by the State of Tennessee. It is Randy's mastery and skill as an embalmer that have provided our families with everlasting, poignant final memories of their loved ones.

Since retiring from the banking world, we've been fortunate to have Hoyt join us at the funeral home as an assistant and greeter. As a current City Alderman, Hoyt recognizes the importance of serving the people of our community. His warm welcome helps our guests find solace and comfort during their time here.
